Records of computer programs, commonly referred to as “software” with the INPI, must be guaranteed the legal rights guaranteed by the current legislation, protected by Laws 9,609 / 98 and 9,610 / 98.
In order to guarantee the exclusivity in the production, use and commercialization of a Computer Program, the interested party must prove the authorship of the same, being, therefore, of great importance the Registration at the INPI.
The term of validity of the rights is 50 years from the 1st of January of the year following that of the “Creation Date” of the Program, guaranteeing the absolute secrecy of the parts of the Program brought to the Registry at the INPI.
